This paper focuses on the control scheme of a new three-phase AC/DC converter topology consisting of an input side pulse inverter and an output side rectifier. The pulse inverter generates an electrically isolated alternating three-phase voltage using only two active switches. This voltage is then converted into DC by a fully controlled three-phase bridge rectifier operating in boost converter mode. For the rectifier, a control strategy with inner hysteresis current control for fast current adjustment to rectify the AC pulse voltage is designed and verified by simulation.
