This paper presents a method for considering the influence of temperature and magnetic anisotropy on the core losses of grain-oriented electrical steel. To achieve this, the specific electrical resistance of grain-oriented electrical steel was measured as a function of temperature, considering the rolling direction, using a specially developed measurement setup in a climate chamber. The core losses were measured in the climate chamber using a 12.5 cm temperature-resistant Epstein frame custom-made for this purpose. The developed core loss model is based on the loss separation method and was tested for various typical magnetization scenarios in power electronics, with comparisons to measurements.
