Fluxgate-based current sensing is a prevalent method employed in residual-current devices (RCDs). However, the design and analysis of fluxgate transducers present challenges due to non-linear operational characteristics. Although approximations and assumptions have been utilized to address the non-linearities, the modeling and simulation of fluxgate transducers are not adequately elaborated in the literature. This paper proposes new modeling approaches and simulation-based analysis of fluxgate transducers. Modeling and simulation capability of the fluxgate current sensor may not provide designers with succinct analytical equations but valuable insights into the operation of non-linear circuits.
