The data center power supply architecture is changing from 12V to 48V, and the Point-of-Load (PoL) converter is facing the problem of how to achieve a high step-down ratio and high efficiency under high current. Based on the two-stage architecture, this paper proposed a method to improve the efficiency of the converter by optimizing the switching frequency and the phase number of Buck. Finally, a 48V-1V/200W prototype was designed based on the optimization results. Under the rated conditions, the prototype achieves peak efficiency of 91.7%, closed-loop control error less than 1% and power density of 52W/in3.
