Over recent years, digital twins have gained attention in monitoring power converters propelled by advancements in data-driven model. To achieve higher precision in power converter temperature monitoring, in this paper a voxel-based approach for real-time thermal modelling of transient behaviour in power converters is introduced. It is based on analytical model and conceptualized as a 3-D matrix, which integrates heat transfer equations and thermodynamic principles. Aiming to build up a digital twin in embedded system to operate in parallel with physical prototype, this work details its implementation on hardware, highlighting system requirements and computational needs, and finally compares its results with FEM simulation and experimental data.
