Two hardware trainers, along with design and simulation tools, are suggested as a method to educate individuals on the operational concept of the Dual Active Bridge. Explaining the operational principle of DAB and its modulation techniques can be made easier by utilizing design tools that provide an overview and assistance in setting the main parameters, along with simulation and visualization tools that aid in comprehending the impact of the modulation methods. In order to witness this in a real-life scenario, a hardware trainer is necessary to display these wave patterns on an oscilloscope, together with added control systems. What matters most is observing firsthand how altering parameters impacts the waveforms and power transfer. While simulation may demonstrate this concept, a hardware trainer has the capability to directly display the waveforms as parameters are adjusted either manually or through a control system. This paper proposes the use of a hardware trainer that can be utilized in power electronics courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
