For a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine with concentrated windings and stator flux barriers including magnetic saturation, a fast but accurate analytical calculation of the magnetic field distribution and of the resulting torque is presented. The main idea is to use the highly accurate Subdomain Model to model the linear field behavior and to incorporate magnetic saturation as effective virtual currents obtained from a magnetic Equivalent Circuit Model. The comparison of the obtained results with Finite Element Analysis shows a good precision of the presented method, suitable for control applications.
