Isolated dc-dc converters are widely used in power electronics. In particular for battery chargers where isolation between grid and battery is required along with wide range of battery voltage regulation. In this context, we propose the high-power density asymmetrical CLLC isolated dc-dc GaN/SiC based interface with capability to control output voltage/current in the wide range. This paper discloses the operation principle along with components selection guidelines. Also, simulation results disclose all potential of the proposed approach. Compact simplified 5 kW demonstrator working at 500 kHz was designed in order to demonstrate feasibility of the proposed approach.
