Inhalt:
Researching and studying norms and standards is a time-consuming process. However, complying with them is of high importance for the successful commercialisation of new technologies. This paper summarizes the electrical requirements from the harmonized standards and norms for electric vehicle charging safety. In order to provide an overview, the investigated standards and their core contents are briefly outlined. Four topics of electrical safety by charging electric vehicles are examined in more detail to provide an informative summary. In particular, the isolation resistance between adjacent parts and the chassis ground, critical voltages and dangerous potentials in the vehicle and charging connectors, the galvanic isolation between the vehicle and the charging station and the limiting of the transmittable electrical energy are discussed.
