Following the fast research and development in car electrification field, STMicroelectronics proposes an innovative STi2GaN 650V IC for a new closed control loop boost converter based on STM32 microcontroller. Boosting up a 200V DC input voltage to 400V output one at very high switching frequency (300kHz), the complete system is able to work in hard switching conditions thus combining both high voltage and high current domains and guaranteeing 98% efficiency. Strengths of the system are its optimized layout, package solution and overcurrent and overtemperature protections.
