This paper presents a new method for current measurement in a high current, low voltage DC/DC converter for space application. The study is divided into three sections. The first section presents the background, the converter specifications as well as the requirements for current measurement. The second part deals with the limitations of some frequently used methods of current measurement (theoretical, simulation and experimental study). An innovative current measurement method presented in the third section ensures a good sensitivity, reduces losses in measurement system and limits the parasitic loop inductance. This method is simulated through a finite elements simulation and will be experimentally integrated on next breadboard.
