To investigate the effects of self-perceived aging on perceived stress in elderly patients with hypertension and the moderating effects of sleep quality mediation and hope levels. The Self-Perceived Aging Scale, Sleep Quality Scale, Adult Quality Hope Scale and Perceived Stress Scale were used to investigate 430 elderly patients with hypertension. Self-perceived ageing, sleep quality and perceived stress were significantly and positively correlated, and hope level was significantly and negatively correlated with perceived stress; sleep quality mediated the relationship between self-perceived ageing and perceived stress in elderly hypertensive patients; hope moderated the effect of self-perceived ageing on perceived stress in elderly hypertensive patients and also moderated the effect of self-perceived ageing on sleep quality. Self-perceived aging has a moderating mediating effect on perceived stress in elderly hypertensive patients; self-perceived aging affects perceived stress in elderly hypertensive patients through sleep quality; hope level moderates the relationship between self-perceived aging and perceived stress, and self-perceived aging and sleep quality.
