The current research used beat-to-beat analysis system to monitor the cardiovascular indicators after the acute effects of HIIE under hypoxic and normoxic environment on university male students. The study discusses the reasons that associate to changes in blood pressure (BP) by testing a series of variables cardiac output (CO), heart rate (HR), stroke volume (SV), and total peripheral resistance (TPR). Ten healthy university students participated and undertook the four random exercise trials: rest in hypoxia (RH), rest in normoxia (RN), normoxic HIIE (NH), and hypoxic HIIE (HH). Mean blood pressure, CO HR, SV and TPR were evaluated before and 30 min after each trial. Both HH and NH led to post-exercise hypotension (PEH) during the post-test 30 minutes in trials compared with RN trial. HIIE can lead to PEH in both normoxic and hypoxic environment, while hypoxia strengthens this effect. The main mechanism responses in PEH may be associated with the decrease of TPR.
