Design of interactive device based on open source programming platform under the phenomenon of information cocoons

In the context of the Internet era, as the science and technology keep developing, the phenomenon of "information cocoons" is becoming more and more popular, and the negative impacts brought by it also emerge in an endless stream. Based on such background, the author designed the interactive installation art work "entering cocoons" with the help of Processing and Arduino, the open source programming platforms. Taking "entering cocoons" as an example, it is intended to call for people’s attention on information cocoons and the negative impacts arising therefrom. Also, it is to discuss the advantages and values generated by the integration and innovation of technology and art through studying the results combining artistic expression and computer language in the process.
