3D CAD systems are widely applied in collaborative design, but different 3D CAD systems may have differences when performing the same functionality, which may cause potential errors in subsequent manufacturing and processing. This paper proposes an automated analysis method to determine differences in the functionality and performance of different 3D CAD systems based on a uniform interface. A hierarchical comparison method is proposed to automatically analyse the differences between the 3D CAD models generated by different 3D CAD systems in the same testing program, based on which the differences in the functionality of these 3D CAD systems can be analysed. The performance data of different 3D CAD systems are also recorded and compared. In the end, three 3D CAD systems are tested and analysed to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
