Currently, the continuous development and promotion of hydrogen fuel cells remain an important challenge. Here, we have studied the performance of hydrogen fuel cells from different quantitative metrics and compared those with other hydrogen power generation methods to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of hydrogen fuel cells. Moreover, our group predicted the values of different quantitative metrics of hydrogen fuel cells in the next ten years by literature study. The whole study points out a promising future for hydrogen fuel cells. Although there are still some questions that do not have good answers at present, researchers have been studying them and have had some results, and it is believed that after many experiments, these questions can be solved in the future.
