In order to achieve the strategic goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", it is urgent to build a new electricity market system with new energy as the main body. With the rapid development of the load characteristics of the Guizhou power grid and the rapid development of new energy, it is urgent to accelerate the construction of the Guizhou power spot market, and solve the problem of optimal allocation of resources through time- and location-based price signals. This article takes Guizhou's power supply structure and the current power market construction and development as a breakthrough point to analyze the necessity of Guizhou's construction of a power spot market. Research shows that there are still some problems in the construction of the electricity market-oriented trading mechanism in Guizhou Province. The construction of the power spot market in Guizhou can be transformed by optimizing the way that clean energy participates in the market, connecting electric energy and ancillary services, encouraging user-side participation in the market, and rationally disposing of unbalanced funds, so as to provide new ideas for its development.
