The method for studying the shape and structure of the metal plasma nanomaterials by synchrotron assisted with small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), correlated X-ray scattering (CXS) and numerical simulation were systematically described in this paper. As a result, the possible shapes of scattered particles from the oscillation trend of scattering intensity curve in the limit region of short wave were inferred with SAXS. In addition, more complex structure information with the CXS signal from gold NP scattering in solution were found. Finally, finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) as a practical and reliable method for studying the electromagnetic characteristics of metal nanostructures was described in detail. As a structural characterization technique, small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) is very suitable for studying the structural information of metal plasma nanomaterials. However, correlated X-ray scattering (CXS) could in principle reveal the internal structure information of the particles beyond usual SAXS measurements.
