In PV inverters connected to the grid, three-phase inverters with a DC-link referenced output filter are widely considered, being a great choice to improve the common-mode noise injected into the grid. However, the inductor ripple is larger in this configuration, and thus it must be considered for the inductor filter design. This paper presents an analytical description of peak-to-peak current ripple for this converter topology when three-phased coupled inductors are considered in comparison to three-phase independent inductors. Two modulation techniques will be analyzed: classical sinusoidal PWM modulation (SPWM) and carrier phase shift SPWM modulation (CPS-SPWM). Besides, different case studies are compared, considering a three-phase PV inverter of 100 kW operating at 20 kHz switching frequency.
