Based on the welding characteristics analysis of the Cu-Ni alloy tubes and the low alloy steel tubesheet in the seawater cooler of a platform, the method of gas tungsten arc welding is adopted, and the welding procedure measures and parameters are worked out. The macroscopic inspection, dimension inspection, nondestructive inspection, mechanical properties and metallographic inspection were carried out on the welding procedure qualification samples. The results show that the welding method, procedure measures and parameters formulated can satisfy the practical production. The success of the welding procedure qualification is of great significance to the manufacture of the seawater coolers.
