The flat display of driving simulator cannot reflect the real driver's field of view, which affects the fidelity of driving experience. A driving simulator is designed based on VR virtual technology. According to the functional requirements of driving simulator, the simulator structure is designed including driving control system, virtual visual display system, vehicle dynamics simulation system and auditory system. Based on VR virtual technology, the driving simulation view is built to give the driver a real field of view. The motion sensing simulation algorithm of vehicle driving was designed, which was transformed into pose signal of driving simulator through coordinate transformation, and the appropriate position difference vectors of different perspectives were obtained through calculation and operation verification, so as to simulate the real-time running status of vehicles. The experimental results show that, compared with the real vehicle movement, the speed error of the driving simulator based on VR virtual technology is 1.240% in the deceleration straight stage, 2.720% in the acceleration straight stage, and 2.934% in the turning stage. The above results are in line with the expected Settings, which can realize the real driving experience.
