Hand pallet truck or luggage cart based on rotary lifting has the advantages of simple structure and rapid lifting. However, the rotary lifting process is not stable and steady. It’s also laborious to lift goods with large weight and low barycentre. Though auxiliary force can be provided by using gas springs, the effect is unsatisfying. To solve these problems, a novel pallet truck is designed, which adopts the lifting device based on lever and parallel four-bar linkage. Both the optimal design model and the mechanical analysis method of the lifting device are proposed. Numerical simulation results show the superiority of these innovative designs and schemes.
