As E-learning becomes more and more popular, more and more students are beginning to acquire knowledge online. Nevertheless, students are also easy to addict to computer games when they study online due to lacking parental super-vision. It brings new challenges to the parents of students. A few parents use certain parental control tools or parental control settings of operating systems to prevent their children from playing games. However, most of these software lack the versatility to respond to all kinds of games. At the same time, they may easily cause privacy and security issues due to excessive permissions. In this paper, we propose a computer gaming monitoring method based on the mouse and keyboard operation behavior of users. The method consists of four steps: keystroke data collection, data preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification. The experimental results show that the accuracy of our proposed method for de-tection of gaming state achieves 99.71%. This illustrates the feasibility of using mouse and keyboard operating features to detect gaming state. And it has good generalization ability and robustness for different computer games.
