Modular Power Electronics Platform for Evaluation and Rapid Prototyping using a NPC Converter

Due to the increasing influence of climate change on the use of fossil raw materials, there is currently a rapid shift towards to renewable energy production. In Germany, the Energiewende has been driven forward for several years. With the decentralized generation through renewable energy sources, the requirements for the storage of electrical energy are also increasing. The Energiewende can only be achieved by means of efficient power-electronic converters. IAV is developing a modular prototype platform for power electronics as an evaluation tool. This will enable quick response to different customer scenarios and requirements by replacing individual modules. Also different power requirements are to be met.
