Inhalt:
This paper shows the possibilities of optimizing the switching behavior of wide-bandgap semiconductors by using current-controlled open-loop slope shaping gate drivers. Slope shaping enables a reduction of voltage overshoot while maintaining the same switching losses. Hence, a more efficient usage of, in this case, SiC-MOSFETs is achieved. This paper includes a setup proposal for the gate current profile as well as an analysis of the operating point dependency of the gate current profiles.
