Eco-designing static converters becomes a necessity to tackle the growing issue of e-waste, and to mitigate the environmental impacts occurring during the manufacturing, usage and the end of life stages. This research focuses on multicellular power converters as original designed systems providing the opportunity for optimizing their functional usage throughout their life cycle. This paper proposes a quantitative method for designing for reuse. The suggested models rely on the concept of keeping the components’ value high during multiple lifecycle stages within a circular economy scheme.
