Inhalt:
Frequency tracking of a fast switching series resonant converter (SRC) is presented in order to reduce switching losses. The experimental setup aims to achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) on the converters high voltage side (HVS) within a wide range of operation points. Therefore, measurement circuits were set up to detect if soft switching through ZVS is affected, and to control the converters switching frequency. The control is able to respond to different scenarios, such as a long term change of the resonant frequency dominated by the resonant circuits passive components or short term occurring load steps.
