Objective: To investigate the relationship between radial artery hemodynamic changes and steal syndrome in patients with forearm autogenous arteriovenous fistula (AVF). Methods: 421 cases of forearm autografts arteriovenous fistula were included in the study. In the course of upper extremity arteriovenous ultrasonography, the morphological and hemodynamic parameters of the distal cardiac artery were collected, including internal diameter, average flow rate, resistance index, blood flow and other indicators for analyzing. Result: Color doppler flow imaging (CDFI) assessment results: 72.5% of patients had different levels of blood stealing; clinical indicators evaluated: 8.8% of patients diagnosed ischemic syndrome. In contrast, CDFI can be more sensitive to the hemodynamic changes under mild stealing with no clinical symptoms. As the amount of stealing blood increases, the corresponding stealing syndrome manifests more obvious. Conclusion: The monitoring of radial arterial hemodynamics by CDFI has important reference value for ischemic syndrome related to AVF.
