Inhalt:
Chemiresistive sensors have great potential to be integrated into Internet of Things applications due to their simple construction and low power consumption. They are well-needed in environmental monitoring of volatile organic compounds in air especially in hard-to-access and hazardous areas. Chemiresistive sensors can be manufactured by inkjet-printing which is a great alternative to conventional resource, cost and time intensive processes like thermal evaporation, sputtering, chemical vapor or atomic layer deposition, laser ablation, thermal oxidation or lithographic processes. Inkjet-printing is an additive, contactless technology. The layout of the sensor elements like interdigital electrodes and the position of the sensing film can be adjusted digitally and flexible. In this research work a chemiresistive sensor based on inkjet-printed interdigital electrodes and its potential to be integrated into wireless systems is demonstrated.
