Normally, a device like a switched-mode power supply or an inverter with corresponding filter topologies, in this paper named device under test (DUT), is first developed then built and finally there is an electromagnetic interference (EMI) test. At that point the EMI of the DUT is measured on a line impedance stabilization network (LISN) by using an EMI receiver. For estimating the results of the EMI test, i.e. detecting weak points of the DUT, in the forefront, simulations are done in the software PLECS (Piecewise Linear Electrical Circuit Simulation) [1]. Benefits of simulating EMI behavior prior to prototype setups are savings of time and costs. For verifying the approach, simulations of real test signals were compared with laboratory measurements.
