This paper presents a single-phase current control scheme for transverse flux machines. Voltage disturbances in the current control loop are identified based on a lumped parameter model of the transverse flux machines’ dynamic behavior. A harmonic control scheme provides disturbance rejection for the fundamental frequency as well as its harmonics. The steady state performance of the proposed control scheme is evaluated and compared to a conventional control algorithm.
