Inhalt:
In this paper, the main objective is to investigate the possibility of paralleling multiple generators with different neutral point grounding methods. First, some single-phase earth fault studies for a sample MV network, comprising multiple generators and a motor are performed. Then by using the results of first part, we turn our attention to a case study that is relevant to a refinery. The refinery is experiencing a complementary plan that two neutral earth resistor grounded generators are expected to install there and this new scheme will have impact on the earth fault current of the present MV substation. Eventually, a solution for safe operation of that MV network in presence of new generators is proposed.
