Many service providers have started to deploy triple play services over DSL including IPTV as an essential service component. This evolution in service offerings is necessary to maintain customers, grow market share and increase the profitability of broadband services in an extremely competitive broadband market. However, each service in the triple play bundle (e.g. IPTV, VoIP) has its own unique service-control framework and operations and billing support systems, increasing the complexity of the overall triple play service architecture. In addition, service providers need to consider how to differentiate their service offerings from other triple play providers who plan to offer the same service bundle. In this paper we discuss how IMS and IPTV service platforms can be interworked and, to some extent, integrated to reduce network complexity and provide a flexible network for new, differentiated, blended services.
