Inhalt:
Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is an extension of traditional monostatic SAR which increases the flexibility in designing SAR missions. While in the monostatic SAR case the geometry is readily modeled when evaluating the Point Spread Function (PSF), in the bistatic case there are two different flying direction for the transmitter and receiver with speeds that could also be different. In this most general case, the definition of the SAR integration time and azimuth coverage is not so obvious as in the monostatic case. We describe a method for the computation of the integration time and azimuth coverage based on the use of spatio-temporal diagrams.
