In bistatic SAR, due to the projection velocity vector in range direction, there may be two positions with the same Doppler phase history (DPH) generated by echo delay at each PRT, that will cause artifact targets in bistatic SAR imaging. This paper validates the existence of mirror target and analyzes the factors affecting the mirror center position and the output amplitude of mirror target based on back-projection algorithm. Possible methods for decreasing the impact of mirror target interference are discussed also.
