In the 3GPP TD-SCDMA standard, a favorable receiver is Block Equalizer. In fast varying environment, the channel estimation calculated by Midamble sequence has to be used to detect the noisy data far away from the Midamble sequence. This can lead to a high error floor. A new detection method is proposed in this paper. At first, parts of chip data adjacent to Midamble are detected by the Channel Estimation result obtained by Midamble and detected bits are then applied to do Channel Estimation to renew the Channel Impulse Response. The renewed Channel Impulse Response result will be used to detect the residual chip data. Simulation results show that the proposed method can dramatically lower the error floor of the conventional Block Equalizer in fast time-varying channel.
