This work proposes a single-fiber-based forward-transmission distributed vibration sensing scheme. Proof-of-concept experiment demonstrates the capability to accurately localize vibration events along fibers exceeding 120 km without repeaters. It features include a 14% improvement in position accuracy and significant saving in optical fiber.
