A 25-GSa/s high-efficiency all-digital real-time 4-th order DSM transmitter with a record con-version efficiency of 37.5% was realized in an FPGA. A 9.375 Gbps 64-QAM signal with the center frequency of 6.25 GHz is transmitted over 20-km SSMF at 1310nm, demonstrating an EVM of 4.1%.
