We propose a novel three-stage optical switch architecture to realize high-port-count optical circuit switches for intra-datacentre networks. Numerical simulations show the scalability of the proposed switch architecture. Experiments successfully confirm the 17.2 Pbps performance of a 12,288 × 12,288 switch prototype.
