We experimentally investigated the accuracy of longitudinal power profile estimation across fibres with different effective core areas. Despite weaker Kerr nonlinearity, G.654 fibres achieved accuracy comparable to a G.652D fibre at respective optimal launch powers, with root-mean-square errors of 0.67 dB and 0.80 dB.
