We reveal for the first time that the inter-core crosstalk (XT) penalty varies with the input power under 2LP-mode counter-propagation different from single-mode counter-propagation. A slight improvement in the total figure-of-merit in a few-mode multi-core fibre can be achieved by optimizing the input power level.
