Thunderstorms exhibit strong randomness and powerful instantaneous destructive force. Understanding the development process of thunderstorms can better protect facilities and equipment, such as power transmission lines, that are susceptible to lightning impacts. This study selected a thunderstorm process and, through the analysis of total lighting and radar data, delineated its spatial and temporal evolution. It clearly outlines the overall trend of the thunderstorm process over time, identifies stages such as generation, development, and dissipation, and provides characteristics of lightning polarity dis-tribution and height distribution at each stage.
