Damage Probability of Apparatus Powered by an HV/LV Line

In this paper the probability of damage of apparatus powered by an HV/LV transformer due to lightning strokes to the overhead HV line is evaluated. Bonding conditions of the apparatus and of the transformer to the earthing system of the structure where the apparatus is installed are analyzed. Some considerations are made even on the damage probability of the HV/LV transformer and on the influence of its surge protection on the probability of damage of the LV apparatus.
