Herein rocket-triggered lightning experiments are carried out to study the influence of the cable's location on the lightning induced voltage. Synchronous measurements are made for the lightning channel luminosity, the magnetic field, and the induced voltage of the cables positioned on the ground and the steel platform during the five triggered lightning events involving 32 return strokes (RSs). The analysis shows that the variation characteristics of the cables’ induced voltage corresponding to RSs are similar, and that the peak of the ground cable is stronger, but the inverse peak of the platform cable is higher. Moreover, the induced voltage of the platform cable has a wider half peak width and a higher transfer energy. In the correlation analysis, power function relations are found among luminosity, magnetic field and cables’ induced voltage.
