Inhalt:
This paper introduces a measurement system designed for capturing lightning ultraviolet (337 and 391 nm) and infrared (777 nm) emissions in remote locations. The system incorporates the ability to remotely adjust circuitry gain, allowing for precise control over the sensor's measuring range based on the specific lightning stages of interest. To showcase the capabilities of the developed instrumentation, a single stroke negative cloud-to-ground lightning event documented in the Utah Desert during the summer of 2023 is presented. The findings from this study serve to underscore the effectiveness and potential of the measurement system.
