This article focuses on the lightning location system data of a wind farm for over 6 years, and analyses the extraction method of lightning ground flash trajectory based on clustering algorithm. Firstly, the DBSCAN combined with OPTICS method is selected to cluster the lightning positioning data. Then, based on the short-term motion inertia of the same name thunderstorm cloud cluster, a quantitative method is proposed to identify the centroid points of the same name cluster in terms of velocity and direction, and further extract the lightning ground flash activity trajectory. According to the results, it was found that most of the lightning ground flash trajectories were basically consistent with the direction of mountain ranges in mountainous areas, proving the rationality of the method proposed in this paper. Based on the research in this article, the movement law of lightning ground flash activity can be grasped to a certain extent, providing a certain refer-ence basis for lightning protection in the power system.
