Inhalt:
A lab-on-CMOS DNA detection system was designed with an array of pH sensors and an electrode array, created using standard top-metal and passivation openings, that can carry out electrokinetic sample preparation. To test the concept, electrokinetic trapping of DNA was successfully carried out using two gold-plated CMOS bond-pads as electrodes. This is the first instance of electrokinetic trapping of DNA on-CMOS and the first use of standard CMOS passivation openings for electrokinetics. The aim is to create a truly sample-to-result and entirely CMOS-based diagnostic device for increased speed, robustness, and accessibility.
