Inhalt:
The development of the fuel cell technology is pushing electric propulsion for Heavy Duty Trucks to the next level. Here, the integration of the fuel cell system in conjunction with correlating modes of operation with respect to the DC-link is of special interest. High frequency harmonics from electric motor and Pulse Width Modulation generate current ripples in the DC-link, which influence the power quality. A previously generated simulation model, which represents a real fuel cell-based drivetrain for heavy duty applications is extended by two methods for current ripple reduction: 1) additional DC-link capacitor and 2) switching frequency variation.
