Inhalt:
In this paper the design and simulation of coupled inductor for a three-phase interleaved buck converter for high power (175 kW) medium voltage DC grid (> 1.5 kV) charging system for electric vehicles (EVs) is presented. The main idea is to use medium voltage levels in DC power grids to distribute energy with lower ohmic losses. This gives rise to a novel converter design. To improve the footprint of the converter, a coupled inductor is developed allowing the reduction of 15 per cent in volume. Herein, the design study is presented which gives rise to assemble a prototype.
