Phase unwrapping is the reconstruction of a phase given its values modulo 2pi. This technique plays a crucial role in image processing, particularly in synthetic aperture radar interferometry applications, such as topography measurement and ground deformation analysis. With the recent advancements in quantum algorithms for solving mathematical optimisation problems, we are investigating the potential of employing gate-based quantum computers and hybrid quantum algorithms to develop innovative approaches for phase unwrapping.
